How to buy a used vehicle using car auctions.
There are about 8 main steps you need to take, don’t worry it sounds like a lot of work but it’s quite easy!
1. Fisrt you need to fill out our request form competely and truthfully. You are under no obligation to buy a car, by filling in this form. This info will be used to see if we can find the type of car you are looking for. Furthermore, we will not sell this information to any other parties.
2. Here’s where the fun begins, you probably have an good idea what car you are looking for! The USS site is very easy to use, search for your car there, you will find photos and other information eg, age, milage, colour, engine size and so on. To get an idea of a FOB price, you will need to check the market prices we have put on our web site, these can be found here, if not send us an email and we'll do our best to find out for you.
3. Once you have found a car that you are interested in, press the button on the bottom of the page, send us an e-mail from that button, put any question you may have in that email. We’ll get back to you soon. We are sorry to sat that this button doesn’t work if you don't have email software set up on your computer, if this is the case you’ll have to send us an email manually telling us what car you are interested in. Be sure to give as much clear information about the car, so we can find the car you are talking about!
4. Next you’ll need to send us a deposit of 100,000 yen. This deposit will be imediately returned if you decide not to purchase a car with us.
5. Find a car that you like on the USS site email us from the button. Emailing us from the this button allows us to see exactly which car you are interested in. We’ll tell you the condition of car prior to the auction, then you can decide from that, if you want to continue, tell us how much you are willing to bid on the car, we'll tell you if this figure is too much or too little. Then on the auction day we will bid on the car for you. It is an auction, so we can’t guarentee that we will get the car but we’ll do our best!
6. This is the other path available, USS is one of the biggest auction houses in Japan, it has about 50% of the used car market. We have access to most of the major auction houses here in Japan, If you find a car that you like on the USS site, we can search for a simmilar car at other auction houses, and if we find a car that we think suits your requirements, we will send you photos and details. From this information you can decide wether to have us make a bid on that car for you.
7. If you request us to bid for a car and we are sucsessful, you will have to send the balance within two days . If you back out after you ask us to bid on a car and we are succsessful we will not be able to return all of the deposit, we will take our fee and any other costs incured and send you the remainder.
8. Once revceiving the balance, your car will be taken to port and we will book a space of ship.Then we’ll courier the invoice , bill of loading and certificate to you, and you’ll be receiving your car in a couple of weeks. Enjoy!
